An educator may have a vested interest in putting forward that viewpoint. It's debatable at best.

And people were held at a deliberate disadvantage by the religionists who fought against letting them read their own bible in their own tongue.

Now, at least, modern wo/man can read it for themselves and discover what a pile of hogwash it is....with their own eyes.
