electric blue gerbera

when i was in new york there was a flower shop at the end of the block i was staying on that had a bouquet of gerberas and one of them was electric blue. it was the most beautiful flower i've ever seen. was it actually a gerbera? where can i get one? how can i grow some?

I have never seen a blue one..
I'm not entirely sure, but it may have been a white gerbera which had been cut then put in water with blue dye: it drinks it up and the flower turns blue. I have also seen it done with chrysanths and in a nasty shade of green.
Do you know grimalkin I though this too ! I was going to add in my post that they could have dyed them with indian ink and thought better of it ,in case anyone thought I had lost the plot !
I have got a rather chi chi bouquet of vivid purple, shocking pink and white chrysanths which i bought in Tesco's. it sounds strange but actually is quite pretty
