I don't remember the Barry Mann version (or Barry Mann....never heard of him...I must be too young!) but Showaddywaddy were in the charts with it in 1982.

Barry Mann is perhaps better known as a songwriter than a singer. Together with Cynthia Weil he penned a number of hits, perhaps the best known being You've Lost That Loving Feeling for The Righteous Brothers (Phil Spector also has a co-writing credit for that one).
