All to do with homes.
1. CH - a famous playwright`s first attempt at building. 2. BC - ruled by an imperial sow. 3. DD - 10 Downing Street on a Saturday night in the club? 4. TH - better than standing in the rain. 5. TS - equipped with the original version of the mobile home. 6. CT - not a ceramic centre but a potter`s mecca.
Thanks Emeritus. I thought about David`s Den. It is not Chatsworth House, as Chatsworth is the answer to another clue. And is it known as Chatsworth and not Chatsworth House. But thanks anyway.
Emeritus - I did wonder about Castle Howard, think I looked it up, but did not realise John Vanburgh was a playwright. Could be that, as the clue is first attempt at building. will have another look later.
Re. number 6. Sorry to throw a spanner in the works, but is the Crucible Theatre a home? I was going to suggest Carlton Towers as Carlton is a type of pottery. Am I on the wrong track?
I think Crucible Theatre is right, as some of the questions are not strictly "homes." There is a separate section on sports, and for instance .....
LTA - Wimbledon is its headquarters .... Lawn Tennis Association.
Thanks for tree snail, tree house and Empress of Blandings.
