Thank u maid up are u pretty sure on this > as they owe me a month but i got a better full time job so was not in a position to turn it down , i dont wish to lose a month;s wage
I'm certain that most employers would just pay up to date, but don't expect an outstanding holiday pay or a good reference.
However, a very detailed watertight contract might state you have to repay the notice money but its unlikely. Just to be sure, can you wait until they have paid you the month's money and then leave?
Maidup - the contract is very basic - only been with them for 3 months but they still require a month's notice. No i have left already i gave them a days notice and have started my new job yikes
As others have said, you should be paid for the time which you've worked.
However if the firm suffers financial loss through your sudden departure they can sue you to recover that loss.
For example, if you were getting paid £300 per week but the firm has to employ an agency worker to fill the gap (at £500 per week), you will owe them the extra £200 per week that they've had to pay out.
