can i steam clean a roller blind?

help! i am playing with my christmas pressie and my roller blind is gross. can i steam it clean and what stuff can i use to avoid fading colour? mtia x

I wouldn't advise that. The fabric of the roller blind is finished with 'size' - glue-like paint that makes it stiff. The steamer will probably dissolve it leaving your blind limp and lacking in body.
Wipe the blind first with a laundry liquid solution on a clean cloth or sponge, without saturating the blind. and then wipe again with clean water to rinse, leave hanging to air dry.
