Buying a new cooker

My Parents are looking for a reliable make, my Dad wants to buy a Cannon, slot in [600mm wide] type. Anyone had any experience of them?

Our cooker is bog useless, we bought on looks - a known brand, with a good reputation, or so we thought - came totally unstuck over Christmas, Turkey cooking was an extra hour and ½. Would we get a deal from Canon if we bought two at the same time for different addresses?

Siemens. It might cost more but will reward you with a long and reliable service life. And superb food!

I've had a Cannon slot in oven for just over a year - still not too sure about it. The rubber door seal broke after only 3 months but guess that was just 'one of those things'

(and if you take it in kind, you usually get a better deal...new pots and pans for example.....)

In the interests of you not buying another "bog useless" cooker can I recommend that you steer clear of the Frigidaire double oven entry model.
Absolute junk.

My S in L used to work in 'British Gas' showrooms and she always mantained that a 'Cannon' was the Roll Royce of all cookers.

I had a Cannon gas cooker for 23 years - it was absolutely brilliant. When we moved 10 years ago I had to go electric and I still miss my Cannon

We bought our first Cannon about 45years ago. Our present Cannon, about 6years old, slot in model, delivers the goods.
