Each trimester is 3 months long.

So the first trimester is the first 3 months, the 2nd the middle 3 and the 3rd is the last three.
A normal pregnancy lasts around 37 to 42 weeks, or an average of 40 weeks from the first day of your last period. Pregnancy is often divided into thirds, called trimesters. It's a useful way to help describe the changes that happen during pregnancy. The first trimester is week one to week 12, the second is week 13 to week 27, and the third is week 28 to week 40.

i meant in terms of weeks boo. So they are not equal? according to j9pur the first trimester is 12 weeks, the second is 15 and the third is 13?
Question Author
still dont make much sence to me but ta anyway
full term is classed as 37 weeks so about 0-12, 13-25 and 25 onwards.

But they are only a rough indication of time. for instance if you have bad morning sickness which usually goes in second trimester it wont disappear over night between week 12 and 13.

thanks i gather from looking at the link theres no consensus anyway
First trimester will end at 13 weeks and third trimester will begin at when you are 28 weeks pregnant.
