Moving to Ross on Wye?

We are thinking of a move to the country and wondered if any ABers live in Ross on Wye and could advise what it is like?

I hasten to add we have visited all these towns but a day trip is not the same as living there (with an occasional commute to London)

I can think of a million nicer places to live.

What drew you to Ross in the first place?

We have a short list of 4 towns. I asked here for help, not sarcastic comments Baldric, as I thought ABers would perhaps live in the area and would be able to advise if at night they turn into hunting grounds with packs of feral children....a town by night is very different to a town by day I find. We have no requirements other than it is commutable to London occasionally and to LHR/LGW frequently. Thank you to those who have replied.

NoMercy: good house prices, great scenery and countryside, good country pubs and restaurants are our criteria!

Personally I would have gone closer to Ludlow for those criteria....
