Has anyone changed a dip beam headlight bulb on an 06 Astra?
7 Answers
It looks to me like the road wheel has to be removed, then the splash panel inside the wheel arch, to get at the headlight mounting. Has anyone done it? Thanks.

i had an 07 Astra plate van, one of my techs actually dropped/released the bumper on the side the bulb had gone and removed the headlamp (only a few screws/bolts)...only took 10 mins, but then thats what his job is. The flap in the underwing shield is fine if you hose/wash under there first, its not very nice working under there when its covered in mud and road debris...
Removal of the bumper is not the terror some may imagine. The Vectra does not have the flap that the Astra does, so the book directs you to take the car back to the dealer to change a bulb. The dealer was 90 miles away at the time but I had the bumper off, headlight removed, bulb changed and all back together again and three cups of tea drunk within an hour. Tools needed: torx & phillips screwdriver and a 10mm spanner. Torx bolts are on the top of the grille, 10mm bolts in the wheel arches and under the bumper heading towards the sumpguard, and you need the phillips to remove the number plate as those screws go right through to the bit of cast-iron that the plastic bumper is mounted on.
