How long will it take to update AVG

Are you sure it is updating and not scanning?

AVG's update servers can be a little flaky at times, if it's not working just try again tomorrow.

It's updating daffy, Alf how do I cancel it? there is no cancel tab.

I've closed the window, but when I hover over the icon it still says it's updating! and a window has just popped up to say a scan has started.

Well a thump didn't work either, so I've uninstalled it and downloaded MSE, I read what chuck wrote on another thread about MSE, and I always follow Chuck's advice. tankx.

If I was you Alf I'd leave things as they are unless your having problems, lots of people seem to be happy with AVG.
I wonder do I still need malwarebytes, does MSE do what malwarebytes does?

Keep Malwarebytes and scan regularly (once a month at least)
MSE works a lot better than AVG can at the moment.
