Can someone who has finished this give me a leg up. I have completed all the clued lights but can't figure out the instructions on the unclued lights. Any guidance would be appreciated.

You should have auldlang for 20a and syne for 28a so round the outside you have "should auld ..... starting 2 squares in from the bottom right corner.
For39a QUOTERS and 10d GYRE - put these together ... GROTESQUERY (hence the title fantasticality) Now replace "QUERY" by ? and fill in 29d as GROTE? which then gives the ? as the end of the quotation .
