yes'i am scottish,
Thanks Annie; I though it an unlikely coincidence!

We might not have steak pie tomorrow but Mr Cake will be first footing with a bottle of malt, shortbread and a lump of coal (albeit charcoal as we don't have a proper fire).

hey, wheres the black bun,you can still buy that you know
Its gonna be turkey again - exact replica of christmas day. may be some left for sandwiches throught the week too.
We crossed messages Kate :-)

I absolutely loathe pies/puddings; anywhere where the meat is hidden and you don't know if you are going to get a mouthful of gristle. We often spend New Year in Scotland and I am always conscious that there is no way I can politely ask 'have you trimmed all the nasty bits off your meat'!

Fruit juice, lentil soup, steak pie, turnip, sprouts, mashed pots & gravy followed by raspberry pavlova and then the cheeseborad - mmmmmm
I will be having a roast chicken with the surplus stuffings and cranberry sauces I've brought.
Followed by apple crumble, cream or custard.
Apple and custard so far....feel full up already ready some of the lovely full menu goodies you will be having lol.
eccles - I know what you mean. I drove out to Kippen yesterday to get my pie from the butchers there - absolutely brilliant - no rubbishy meat and much better than I could make myself. :o)
Tonight we,re having rack of lamb and some rather delicious smelling fancy veg....son and girlfriend cooking for us while we sit here getting very merry on a large marguerita or three! Letting the new year in at the local pub, we're in a rented cottage in a picturesque Cotswold village, so I think tomorrow we,ll mostly be having alkaselzer or paracetamol!!
I've got a haggis, freshly shot yesterday. got a swede and tatties. I will have to wear one of the wife's skirts when i serve it as my kilt is long gone, the noo.
