potential water damage
Split plastic tube in our upstairs neighbours bathroom, caused water to come gushing through our light fitting and slight dripping at each end of the ceiling. A lot of water came through. Our bathroom has just been completely refurbished two months ago, including new plasterboard ceiling and fibreglass sound proofing. There is no discolouration on the ceiling or any visible signs of cracks or bulging. Should we inform our buildings insurers in the event that damage appears at a later date or will this affect our premiums in the future, as I recently saw a television item about someone who had just made an enquiry about claiming, but never did, and her premiums were raised.

Your claim should be against your neighbour's household insurance anyway, so all being well, your insurers would reclaim the cost if they had to pay anything out.
I'd be concerned about the lighting though - our bathroom leaked upstairs and came straight through the ceiling light. Get your electrics checked out - the cost of the check can be part of your claim to the neighbours' insurers.
