My dad has to go on a speed awareness course in the new year rather than getting points on his licence. I have been told however that if he is caught speeding again within 2 years he will get those three points AND the thee points from his previous offence. Is this true? Many thanks in advance

Sorry I don't know Jonny - there were other courses being run but I don't know what they were - perhaps as danchip said
I've done it, too.

You can't do another course within 3 years. That's all.

But now, if you get flashed again, your friends don't even have to take points for you ... they just have to do a Speed Awareness Course for you ... as long as they haven't already done one themselves, obviously.
I don't find it annoying to read answers that start with "I think", or "I believe", or "a mate of mine says". If one were to ask one's friends and they started their reply like that should one be annoyed with them and insist they say nothing if they are not sure? A reply at least keeps the thread in the 'Latest Post' list where it's more likely to be seen by others, plus a consensus is useful in the event that there is no knowledgeable person around to respond: and it's infinitely better than stating something as a fact when it is only what one believes to be so.
