Hello!

A friend of mine works 6 days a week and gets one weekend off per month. How much annual leave is she entitled to by law? She's been told that she wasn't supposed to haven't more than 20 days (she's booked 21). Thank you in advance. c~s

If you are in UK speak to ACAS. Their website, too, is:-

In preliminary, 20 sounds right.....

Don't know where the magic 20 figure came from. Its 4.8 weeks or 24 days, which may include the public holidays. Goes up to a minimum of 28 days next April. including PHs.
The 24 day minimum is based on a 5 day week. A 6 day week would be 28.8 days entitlement but is capped at 28 days. The 8 Bank/public holidays may be taken out of this figure.

A further complication to the calculation may arise when considering the monthly weekend off. If these days off form part of the holiday quota then your friend already receives more than the legal minimum entitlement.
How many days leave was there from 1st April 2007 to 31st march 2008.
how many days holidays were we entitled from 1st April 2007 to 31st March 2008
Hi coyclark - I think the minimum entitlement question was covered was covered by buildersmate's and kempie's posts above. It was normally 24 days a year in 2007/08. This included statutory holidays. The figure has increased since then
