Payee reference on online banking

Can anyone tell me how to enter a ref number to show which invoice is being paid on Nat West on line banking. I do not intend to amend payee each time I need to make a payment as this involves using the card reader twice. VERY time consuming and annoying. There must be an easier way.

I'm sorry I can't - we don't use our card reader, we don't like the thing. I'd take it into the branch to pay it.

Never used one, I pay whoever from my list of payees so they are ready and waiting to be paid with reference numbers (my account with them) on the bank site. Can you not do this with your bank so you just click on the payee and put in the amount to be paid?

I don't think you can amend a payee without using the card reader unfortunately
