I realise that the concept of "favourites" songs and albums is a bit naff but, a long time ago, there was a question about this on a now long-defunct newsgroup, and this is what I came up with - I don't think it's changed since. It's REALLY difficult to do. So, what's yours...?

Pretty tough to come up with a definitive list, because mood and taste changes from time to time, with me anyway, but these songs and albums have always will always have a place in my best ever lists.
