There's absolutely no need to pay for AV software these days. MSE, AVG, Avast etc all offer free AV software which, in conjunction with malwarebytes, is perfectly sufficient.

trt, if you're talking about AVG, I did use it for a while but gave it up as a bad idea when it didn't live up to my expectations and allowed over 30 viruses to infect my computer. I've been using Norton for five years now and have never had a problem. I dare say, some will disagree (each to their own), but I have Norton on my desktop computer and McAfee on my laptop (which came as a bundled deal) and I have to say out of the two of them, Norton gets my vote.

I think Norton is brilliant. I am due to renew in July but will change to TalkTalk as my provider which have free security on their plus package. Award winning - yeah I know, haha. Just hoping it will be as good. I know TalkTalk do not get a good press but I have always found their service excellent.

I think you have to have an Account to renew otherwise you have to start afresh each time.
