Pink sky!

Not usual pinky sky you get "shepherds delight etc"

It made outside look a funny colour like an old photo!

I had to look twice then its all people on my fcebook saying weird its pink outside!!

Whys that!? (simple terms lol

I thought it was cos i had my lamp and big light on doing my make up- turned them off and was like EH? Lol x

It is a sign that the sy is clear in the direction of the setting sun (south-west). That is the direction from which our bad weather comes in the form of depressions which are always very cloudy.

No cloud in the SW means no depression so for the next 12 hours or so the weather should stay fine.

It was lovely! I walked out the shop for the last time and was greeted with this purple, pink and orange sky! Gorgeous memory :-)

Me and mr mac noticed it tinks. It was a really weird colour - like that greenish way it goes when it's thundery, only pink. Very strange....

It was an Aurora Borealis, northern lights in other words

We're just outside Glasgow and got some weird pictures. It was lovely! I actually only stumbled across this site via google while looking for an explanation!

Agree with previous poster who says that it's not the Auraura. I've seen that and this wasn't that.

The 'red sky at night' adage was right - today there is a cloudless blue sky and wall to wall sunshine.
