regarding all the stop and search controversy with black people
wouldn't it be a good idea to suspend all stop and search on the blacks and see in a years times if any crimes related to blacks have increased due to the suspension.
this would be a good indication whether or not to discontinue this policy or reinstate it

That is to enforce law and order.
If an incident had been committed, and I happened to fit the prototype of who they perhaps considered responsible, I would have no qualms at being stopped and searched.
And in turn I would expect them to apologise to me for taking up my time, if they found nothing on me of what they were looking for.

my brother-whos white- gets stopped at least once if not twice a week, simply becasue he goes to work at 2am (hes a picker and packer for asda stockton weirdy beardy if you see him) they have given no plausable reason for this so he has made a complaint. My husband is a PCSO and says that in order to do a stop and search there must be grounds for it, so if the face is known to the police the more likely they will stopped and searched, esp if they are known to carry weapons. He works in an inner city area though so it may vary area to area
In many inner city areas, most crime is committed by young black males. This isn't a racist comment, it is a fact. It is hardly surprising that young black males get stopped and questioned by the police. If there had been a hit and run serious accident and witnesses said that a blue Ford Focus was involved, then you would not expect the police to be concentrating their efforts on the drivers of red Vauxhall Astras
There is a difficulty with P.A.C.E and the powers of stop and search, which everyone seems to mis out on and it is down to reporting descriptions. Should a white male with ginger hair and blue eyes commit an offence, his description alone gives a police officer a better chance of stopping someone of that description, however if a black man with black hair and brown eyes committs an offence, it is more difficut, so it is not racist but just more difficult
