What can I use to stuff a doorstop?

It's got to be heavy and flexible and I don't want to use anything edible like dried beans or lentils. Think sand must be really messy. Nothing toxic due to kids and dog.

What do shop-made doorstops weigh their ones down with? Is there a heavy stuffing I can get from suppliers?

Any reasonable suggestions?

Fill polythene bags with sand so you have a few sand 'puddings'. You could put bubble wrap round each one to protect and reduce spillage. Add a little bit of toy stuffing around the sand puddings, et voila!

i made some doorstops out of tin tea containers filled with sand, lids screwed on tight, very effective and not messy

Hi 2gbmum not sure if you just have the urge to make your own doorstop or just haven't seen anything you like or just a little expensive, I googled doorstops before and some unusual ones on omlet I particularly liked the campervan and birdhouse

Thank you all for your suggestions. Yes, pizza, I hope to make a wacky one for myself. I've also found a suggestion of cat litter to weigh down the thing which is cheap and clean. I might give that a whirl.
