Selling stuff on ebay....whats the rules
29 Answers
I am new to selling on ebay. I have a few items for sale with about 10 watchers and 1 or 2 bids. I have had an email asking to buy 2 items for £90, but it will cost me £23 to send them abroad. I was hoping to get more, but am not sure I'll get near the proposal if I just let it go till the end. I know this person wants them so if the bids are low they will get it for a lot cheaper. Although I was thinking if there are 10 or so people watching my different items, there would be a bidding war at the end considering my items are popular. (seen other bids on similar items). Oh, what to do....help. x

woofgang, that link says you can only end listings early if there is a problem, eg the item is no longer available - not just because someone's bid on it. Now that the auction's running, charlie won't be able to see the highest bid - even if she's bid £50, the high bid showing will probably only be £1.05, and charlie will have to sell for that if he closes the auction early.
Box tops scroll down to " what if a member offers you a buy it now price" you have to make clear to the person who wants to buy that if they make their bid and are outbid immediately then the auction will continue. I know this works because I have done it twice after getting advice from the eBay chat help facility
