Ok....what should I do?

Its my 30th birthday in April and have verbally told people the date (a saturday) and put a small deposit on the venue. I have had quite a few recommendations on one particular entertainer (and he does sound amazing), but he can't do my date. He can however do the following Friday. So heres how things stand...

Have it on date everyone can make it :-), plus my friend photographer, but with be pretty standard boring disco :-(

or

Have the entertainer who will have everyone participating, laughing and generally having a memorable night to remember, but 2 or 3 important people can't be there.

Family is important to me but also to have a one off memorable night. Cant choose.

There is a slight chance I can persuade the family to come but would mean asking them to take time off of work to travel on the friday.

Help help help help help. lol

I'd go for your birthday date, save that entertainer for another time. People will want to see you on your birthday, not later - particularly if some important people can't make the later date. It's you they've come to see, not the cabaret.

do not put up with a sub standard entertainer.phone them up and ask where they performed last.contact the people or event staff and check them out to see what kind of job they did.
