On the cheese question, I lived for 3 years in Zambia not a hint of cheese of any kind for the whole 3 years.Not much of anything eles for a lot of the time either, 3 months with no butter , marg or cooking oil.

Scotland, specifically Wester Ross. Unless of course we soon need a passport.

Actually Scotland is a great idea - somewhere in Perthshire, up towards Loch Tay would do nicely :)

237SJ, I have tried it and worked closely with Americans for many years! I have owned land there and was even in the process of building a gorgeous house I had designed. But there are some major aspects that changed my mind and I decided I liked visiting the US, but would far prefer to live in Europe. Just my personal choice really! You will also find many Americans who prefer living in Europe rather than the US. We are afterall all individuals and so make choices that suit out individual lives.
