I recently (two days prior to today) went without gas and had to wait until today to get some (benefits). In hindsight I think now that I relish warmth, 'cos I can now put the gas fire on. It feels great.
Two Christmases ago the water pipes froze solid. You never miss the water 'til the well runs dry. A shower is a luxury that should be more appreciated.

my Saturday mornings to myself, house is empty and I can sit with my breakfast and a cuppa and do the sudoku while listening to radio 6, although stupid Richard Bacon's ruined it a bit, I miss Andrew Collins and Josie Long.
On the sofa, fire lit, dog curled up beside me, good book, sea roiling, rain battering windows and wind howling.
Also, getting into bed when I have changed the linen. Aaah...
