Why do people think thy are entitled to £25.000 a year for not working and haveing large family's we should all do it and see were the country will end

You are a little late with your 'outrage' there are at least two other discussions about this ongoing.

Because they have been brought up to expect it as a right of being a citizen/resident/whatever. They have not been brought up to see welfare as a generous helping hand provided by others that should be accepted only as long as needs to get yourself back on your feet. Society's desire not to see innocent children suffer has ensured the incentive to some adults not take up the responsibility they should have and limit the number of dependant children they have. Ultimately society needs to realise that is counterproductive and some disadvantage to some children is inevitable in a reasonable society, since we all had to depend on the actions of our parents/guardians.

OG, was chatting to a mum (single on benefits) at the school gate a few months back. Her son was about to turn 7 at which point the rules for her getting her benefits changed from auto payments into her bank to her having to sign on fortnightly and having to prove she was job searching. She was moaning on and on about the petrol it cost to get there (yes, she can afford a car) and the fact that every 2 weeks she had to actually make the effort to get to town, that she had to apply for jobs now. She went on to say how she deliberately applied for work she new she would not even get in interview for because of lack of qualifications and experience.
I stood looking at her and listening, letting her dig that hole deeper and deeper
I then turned to her and said 'And why not'?

Very few people get £25,000 in benefits each year. Most people struggle to live on the benefit that is paid to them.

Men can be single parents as well, for all sorts of reasons.

A couple we knew years ago had two chldren then the mother died of cancer when she was in her late 20s.

The husband had to bring up the children on his own.

No it isn't, if she want's to put her mind to it. My daughter is a single mother and has raised our granddaughter alone for over 18 years. OK, we looked after her during the day until she started school but that's all the help she had. Our Granddaughter will be starting UNI next September all being well. My daughter is also buying their little house and earns about the proposed £26K benefits cap, and pays tax on it!

I say the one that abandons the children should not get any state benefit's then they would have to work to survive and then the govment could get some money from them to support the familey thy left
