... Do all police issue handcuffs use the same key? Just watching Coppers and they have bundled a bloke into a van in handcuffs but not handed over any keys so I presume they all use the same key. Can't help thinking that is just asking for trouble.

Most modern handcuffs in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and Latin America can be opened with the same standard universal handcuff key.

I don`t know if the police use the old fashioned handcuffs with a chain but as far as Quick Cuffs are concerned, yes they use the same key.

I just wondered, obviously would be a nightmare if the key had to match the handcuffs being used.

You know those that look *** strapping from a packing case. In some Police progs I've seen those used.

Dont know about the key but Quick Cuffs are can be bloody painful....Ive had experience.....

There are moves used with them that are designed for compliance. If the person complies, they don`t have any pain. If they struggle, they do. Either that or they were too tight. Or the person using them was cack-handed and didn`t care if they hurt you.

Did they handcuff you behind your back or in front of you nailit? I think they fasten them behind your back and if your arms are short or you are a bit chubby I would think that might be a problem.
