I think your chronology is slightly out. I believe the spitting incident was one of the progenitors of the Wall, rather than during the post release tour.... I may be wrong, but I don't think so!

You are right. The Wall was written because of this incident...A Wall being built across the stage to isolate the band from the crowd....

I think you're right as well Waldo, some re-research has revealed that my original source of information did indeed fall down on the chronology.
