I've had a wash and shave and I'm not on the upstairs computer cos I don't feel tired and my Kindle battery is too low to read.

I'm fine - the only thing I've really noticed lately is that my legs have got worse for weakness after I've been sitting down and I cannot get up without supporting myself, and even then sometimes just cannot stand on them.

Once I do it, it's fine and I can move about.

Everything else I have been getting is sporadic, and if I don't do a lot to exert myself, I'm fine - good excuse to be lazy.

For those who don't know my op was cancelled. Actually, there NEVER was an op in the pipeline and it was an admin muck up, but I have to see the consultant surgeon on Wednesday.

As if that was enough, I was also contacted by another hospital also in Oxford who want to run tests on me - some specialist hospital, that's all I know. They wanted me to come down Monday but the tests would have been hours apart and not only was it too short notice to arrange transport, I can't really ask the guy to wait all day for me.

More to the point though I don't think anyone really knows what is going on, so I have requested that they do a bit more coordination between them all and then get in touch - for all I know the trip on Wednesday may be for nothing because I've not had these other tests.

You have mentioned before the travelling problems you have. Is Oxford the only place you can go?

I hope that the 'prod, poke and puncture people' eventually get your tests sorted out.

London is actually easier to get to by public transport, and there obviously must be somewhere there, but I gather Oxford is probably better all round for the knowledge and expertise. I think they need to determine exactly what it is, what's causing it and then take it from there the best way they see fit.

As I have said to you before the coordination and communication between different departments and Hospitals is where our excellent service falls down at times.

I do hope they get you sorted and settled very soon.

I keep trying not to shave for several days but I've never managed more than two. (I just don't feel right with stubble on my chin!).

These neurology hospitals are always so busy and far away. We live in Wales but my husband has to go to the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London. When my husband had a lot of tests or procedures, the hospital put you up in a hotel and arrange transport to take you to the hospital. We used to get the national express to London.

It's worth seeing if the hospital you're going to can arrange transport. When my husband had treatment last week, his dad took him up but he found out he could have had transport all the way back home to Wales!

I hope you don't have to wait too long, as the added stress/worry drives you crazy.
