Sorry for delay,birdie73,was making a cuppa.Must admit I'm getting a bit confused myself .I don't have this quiz.Have you finished it now?

Had to smile at the answer to 27 knotted hanky. I have a snapshot of my father-in-law taken 54 years ago sitting on the beach with a knotted hanky on his head -brought back happy memories of family outings. Good luck with the quiz.

Thanks quinie no I've not really finished it yet as I have several conflicting answers.
16 Great in early 20th century (6) could be Gatsby, Turban or even Cloche
38 1920's Essential (6) Cloche & as above
44 1920's Revival (6) Gatsby
50 Lots of material here (6) Turban
Isn't it confusing !!!!
Tied hankies on heads are rarely seen these days since the advent of baseball caps but do remember seeing them on trips to the seaside !!!

I think gatsby is a good answer for no16. The Great Gatsby was a novel published about that time so I think Gatsby fits the clue best.Still thinking about no38.
