Poor reception of ch 5 cannot be that good an indicator since my reception of 5 is abysmal and yet Freeview is fine.

If your freeview reception isn't very good just keep checking it every now and again as they are improving the signal all the time.

We get a good picture on Ch 5. Our postcode indicates that freeview will not work in our area. Bought freeview anyway and it works fine. Sometimes loses signal and/or picture freezes. Just turning off at the plug and back on again, seems to cure it!
