Unfortunately there is no other benefit your GF can claim, she is not in an unusual situation. The rate of pay and frequency is a principle statement and your GF should have been aware of the situation, which I know will not help. Most people explain their situation and ask their employer for an advance of salary, good employers will usually provide this if they understand the position, but I can understand some reluctance in asking for an advance of salary with a new job and the employer is under no obligation to provide it. The only other option will be too ask family and friends for a loan.
