AB ED - The unanswered questions on this section are, in some cases over a year old. As most are for crosswords or quizzes which will now be out of date, can I suggest that either -
1 - An automatic answer goes in, along the lines of
"This question has been unanswered for 90 days (for example) Please resubmit the question if you still require an answer.
Or
2 - After (eg 90 days), an e-mail is sent to the question poser, saying the question will be removed in 10 days, as no answers have been received, and the question may be reposted if required.

That way, those of us trying to provide answers to all the unanswered questions, will only have reasonably up to date ones to go through.

Thanks ED.

90 days? 90 DAYS! Are you mad? Have you plucked this figure out the air? Where's the proof. Twenty-eight days perhaps with a review every seven da.....<What's that? Oh it's not the Terrorism Bill .....right>

Great idea! At work, we'd call this sort of action "weeding" and I would have thought 28 days would be an approprate period to allow time for an answer.

Question Author

Hi and thanks TLC - I was thinking about a lot less, but there are some quizzes where you get quite a while to send in your answers, but I was hoping there would be more people suggesting less time.

If they could cut it down, even to 90 days, it would reduce the unanswered ones down from 352 to about 50 (at the moment) 28 days would reduce it further still to 23 unanswered.

Just gotta hope ED reads this and takes notice.

Hi tel/corby,
