Ah, no such thing as too cold to snow on the planet. The poles are covered in the stuff. I wish for a balmy breeze and nice hot sunshine to come bursting through the clouds. It'd cheer me up no end. Don't much care for the cold. Met Office has issued snow warnings for the weekend though.
Jumbo747. Think your wish will be granted in next 24 hours. +2 degrees C in Pompey at the moment, but - 5 C last night. Playing havoc with my allotment.
the sky is lovely and blue here in stoke on trent its really cold though, and snow is forecast for tomorrow...hope stokemaveric makes it home before it starts..
We had a bit of snow in Scarborough night. Heavy snow due here on the east coast by Sat night. We are going to over to Lancaster tonight, until tomorrow so hope we can get back ok as its usually bad across the pennines
I've never understood that whole 'too cold to snow' thing. I suppose it tends to be colder if there is no cloud cover and no clouds mean no snow - but it's the lack of clouds that prevent it snowing, not the low temperature.
Just seen the local weather forecast and we are to expect between 5 - 10cm of snow from mid afternoon till the early hours in Central and Eastern parts. Fire on, good book, big snooze me thinks - plans for tomorrow - oh yes and keeping the bird table and feeders well stocked up and water ice free for our little feathered friends........
