I've got half a dozen bone china tea mugs (Queens China) they're v/posh and a pleasure to hand someone a tea in but.. they are becoming tea stained, I put 'em in the dishwasher but it doesn't remove it. Has anyone any tips how to get rid of the stains, without using an abrasive.
Is there a commercial product I can buy?

I would try denture cleaning tablets- they are cheap in such as Poundland, Home Bargains etc. I use them for stain removal around the house.

We use Hob Brite cream - very useful for cleaning stains, cleans sinks, worktops and crockery even dirty stained teapot as well as the ceramic hob which is what it is really made for. Available from all supermarkets, its in an orange bottle with a blue lid.
I just use hot water with wahsing up liquid, and a scouring pad, my cups are never, ever stianed!...........easy!............

Wow! you've all been soo helpful, today I'm going to try the 'Bleach' method, (mainly because I've got no Steradent tabs & its too cold to go out up town & get some) I don't want to use an abrasive they seem too delicate & takes the shine off for the tea stain to stick to again.
Thankyou all. You'd think an old woman would know this sort of stuff wouldn't you. Doh!

Those green plastic abrasive pads work great and will never damage the glaze.
RATTER is right, they don't damage the glaze, but they get rid of the stains!...
