Frogs, iced over pond.

Our pond is frozen over, and we know there are frogs in there.
How can they breath oxygen? Any ideas folks?

They should be ok for a good bit...pour some warm water in a corner of pond...don't break ice..this will scare...when defrosted place a few balls that will float for future freeze..then just pull them out !

In my experience frogs usually instinctively leave the pond before it freezes over.They will drown if trapped underwater.

thats what we thought Blueflame. We know there are at least 3 frogs at the bottom, not sure how many more. Last year coming back from spain at the end of dec, we had 3..4. dead frogs we could see under the ice.Also a a couple of large lovelty fish. Now is the battle to get some holes for the frogs to breath. We havent got any fish now as we were going to shut the pond down and fill it up.
