Sinus infection, face feeling like its been slammed into a wall with my eyes pushed through to the back of my head - and as for the gunk, well!
Got a temp - sat with a bobble hat on and granny blanket around me - sounds enticing eh?!
Sorry just thought I'd share that with you all! Anyone had this? How long did it last? Got a few leftover antibiotics I'm gonna take seeing as its 3 weeks to get in at the GP:(
It'll be another sleepless night no doubt! XXX

No GP should make you wait 3 weeks for an appointment - go see the pharmacist at your local chemists, they can help (although they can't give a prescription they can suggest other things).
We swear by Beechams All in One when we feel like you do - really helps.

PLEASE do not take 'leftover ' antibiotics! They only work if it's a full course!
When patients take part of a course, and stop because they feel better, all that does is weaken your own antibodies, eventually making you immune to the anti-B's. This is one of the reasons why new and stronger anti B's have to be developed.

Why is it that people who have pain in the face with discharge from the nose think that it is a sinus infection and need antibiotics?.....it rarely is and rarely does.
Simple viral and bacterial infections of the upper respiratory tract cause swelling of the lining of the nose, blocked nose, pain in the face and "gunk".
I use a nasal decongestant as suggested by boxtops and Ibuprofen tablets 400mgms three times a day.
I agree with smart, but if you have any leftover antibiotics, check the expiry date and if it is fine then use them as a stop gap...........usually antibiotics are not needed.
You situation should last about 7 days.....improving day by day.
