Having watched Elizabeth I on Channel 4 a week or two ago, I was wondering whether Elizabeth I really did refuse to eat for the last 3 weeks of her life and also insisted on standing quite still at a window for over 15 hours before she finally took to her bed - and died. How old was she when she died?

Her death was very poignant and she eventually slumped onto the floor and sucked her thumb for days on end. I believe she was 69 years of age at her death.

No she refused to go to bed and died I thought on cushions on the floor
