I've had two on my personal mobile number just this morning, again selling help with PPI claims. I know they're only doing their job (most of them sound very young) but it's so invasive. I need to ring that number that's meant to help limit this - anyone know it? Tks.
"The TPS can accept the registration of mobile telephone numbers, however it is important to note that this will prevent the receipt of marketing voice calls but not SMS (text) messages. If you wish to stop receiving SMS marketing messages, please send an 'opt-out' request to the company involved."
Thks all. Haven't had any of those text messages Ellipsis but as well to know how to avoid them. I know they're only following their training, but I find it maddening they want me to identify myself before they've told me who they are, and then they ask how I am, etc., like we're old friends. Believe this is called 'building a rapport' - doesn't work with me I'm afraid.
OK I've done it, for my land and mobile numbers. Quick, easy and free. Great stuff. Have to say though, I already did this years ago (sorry, couldn't remember how which is why I bothered you guys) and after an initial big decrease, the calls gradually gathered pace again. It will be worth it if it's just a short - term improvement and I have to do it again. Thanks again all. x
Several of my friends and I registered with TPS.Think we'll maybe have to do it again.Lately I've been inundated with cold calls and also calls where nobody answers-really annoying
Murraymints, I registered both my land and mobile nos. with TPS, successfully I thought. Why don't you think they're not for mobile nos.? Time will tell, let's see how many I get today!
As I've already said, I do feel for the poor s-ds who have to make these calls, must be one of the worst jobs, cold calling.
my dad was being pestered by these accident recovery/compensation type thingies..I spoke to BTabout it ..although he is orange mobile..it was they who said that tps has no control over mobs or callers from overseas...
