Sheep and Jumpers?

Can anyone tell me... SO desperate to know. The body of a sheep is about the size of a human torso. Therefore, does 1 sheep equal 1 jumper? If not, how many sheep does is take to make 1 adult size jumper?

Nost sure of the exact proportions involved, but I know that a large proportion of a fleece is grease which is washed out, reducing the weight by i think about two thirds. On that basis, you'll need the wool from three fleeces to make a jumper - but I could have my proportions wrong.

I found this site from a sheep farmer in New York State who breeds Merino sheep for their wool and in a FAQ section read this ...

"Q) How much wool do you get from one Merino sheep? A) Between 10 - 18 lbs. More from rams because of their larger size.

Q) How many sweaters will that make? A) About 4 or 5, after washing and processing the wool.
