I have to double space the line between my essays to the Open University.
Is it possible to make my computer do this automatically as on the old fashioned typewriter?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

Are you working in Word?
The detail varies between versions, but basically somewhere under the format option, you'll find the option to alter line spacings.
If you've down work already, highlight all your work - the easy way is to go to 'edit / select all', or press ctrl+A
Then work through the format / paragraph options.
In Microsoft Works open a document. Click on 'Format' and from the drop down menu click on 'paragraph'. Then click on'spacing' and select 'double'.
Assuming MS Word then select the text to double-space; open the Format drop-down menu and select 'Paragraph'. That gives the option to set spacing.

Thank you, Mosaic, sandyRoe and Howard Kennedy for your response to my double spacing question.
I have to send my essay to the Open University by e-mail.
If there is no way of arranging for double spacing on e-mail, I suppose I could type it first on "Word" and then transfer it to e-mail
Surely you need to type it in Word and then send it as an attachment? This is the usual way to do it.
I don't know about OU courses but I would assume that they specify the various formats in which they will accept submissions.
Unless told otherwise by OU I would do as AM^ says.

If you are unsure about how to send attachments, give AB a shout and someone will be glad to help.
I took an OU course with this requirement a few years ago, and sent the Assignments as attachments.
