Elf & Safety Gone Mad??

I sadly had to attend a funeral this morning. At the beginning, the vicar told us that, in the event of any unforseen circumstances there were two exits. One being the door we all came in by and the other one being through the vestry to the right.

I've never heard this before in a church. Is it H & S gone mad?

I'm afraid it has chrissa 1. It is now a requirement in all pulic buildings, also they must have a 'smoking prohibited' notice clearly displayed. This includes all places of worship as well.(I am a vicar's mother!)

Some things seem silly but for very serious things there is a first time .So safety first is never uselees advice

When my best friend died my husband was asked to be one of the pallbearers.When we arrived he had to sign a form for "Elf and Safety" and the only place to rest the form was on her coffin. We did laugh about it afterwards and knew full well that she would have laughed louder than any of us.
