A work colleague recently mentioned to me how good this site was for getting reductions on various items, meals out, holidays etc. Has anyone used it and how does it work. Ive just looked at one holiday and it says you have to collect 2 groupons ? How do I do that then, I dont understand it. TIA

Have used it for meals, haircuts and beauty treatments. Some have been very good and others not so, I tand to check reveiews of places before I buy if possible. Basically you buy a voucher for a reduced price, if enough sell the deal is on.
Not seen anything asking for 2 vouchers - do you have a link?

I used a groupon voucher for a visit for a family to an inner city farm. The reduction was very good, and the visit was excellent. Will use again definitely.
They have received criticism recently (press and radio) for "dodgy" practices.
If you do sign up with them use a throw away email address.... they send a stupid amount of emails!
I used them once last year for half price tickets to Flambards in Cornwall, no problems whatsoever.
using for hypnotherapy at the moment, great saving, great service

I appreciate you advice Chuck, but it seems so far they are more good than bad. I have used an old email address anyway as I always do with suspect things . Only family know my new email
I get a daily email with the days deals in my city, I filter them into a folder of their own so it's not too much trouble.
I ordered a pair of boots for my daughter for Christmas; they never did turn up. After many emails to Groupon they've told me I can have credit to the vaue of the boots which I don't want - I've asked for a refund but can't get one. My advise would be don't use them!
But that isn't really the fault of groupon masma - they work with other businesses (like the company selling the boots), but once you have bought the voucher, delivery of your product is down to the company supplying the product. There have been a few cases of companies being swamped with orders and not being able to fulfil them, but I wouldn't blame groupon for that. I've bought loads of stuff through them and they have all been pretty good deals.
But surely it's Groupons responsibility to find out if a company is reliable?
No its' not that why I check out reviews where possible before buying.
I've emailed Groupon many times and they refer to the company who were meant to supply the boots as a "partner" - hey ho I still can't get my money back from either of them.
