With respect to the people from the South on here, regards Work / Building, is there a South / North divide?

places getting built in the South in comparison to the North of Birmingham.
Yes there is. A clear one.

It's called the Midlands.
Wel nothing is getting built here in London if you mean housing.
There is no space.
there are quite a few schemes going on in the north of birmingham at the moment, not sure about the south of england
They've been arguing for years about building a new village just outside York. There has been a couple of big developments in the centre of York on brownfill sites.
Loads gone on in Northampton.
This development is right in the city centre.....................

It made me laugh as in the early 19c Hungate was the poorest area of York.
Lots of building of houses here. From where I see it, you can build a house on a postage stamp.
There are shedload of new buildings going up here, mostly flats and maisonettes, and you can't get much more south than here.
The nearer to greater london you get the better the opportunities.
