Hello all and good evening to you..

I am trying to burn onto Asda DVD-R discs with Convertxtodvd and it says it's the wrong type of disc, but i also try with Maxwell DVD+R and it says the same. Can someone tell me where i am going wrong ? x

Probably your DVD is CDRW only which means it can't burn DVD discs. Check the DVD drive panel what the label says.

You can get a disc cleaner with two small brushes on it which will clean the lenses of your DVD drive from places like Pound Shop. That may help?

Try getting a lense cleaner like Wak suggested, then try burning a file onto a DVDRW disc. If that fails then most likely the DVD drive is faulty then I would look at buying a USB external DVD drive.
