How will Iran's desire for nuclear weapons promote an arms race?

To their east both Pakistan and India have nuclear arms. To the north Russia has them too. While Israel, to the west, is a major nuclear power in the area.
Does our Foreign Secretary, William Hague, want to see the Iranians going naked into the conference chamber?

Yes, Iran has threatened to exterminate Israel publicly, and I believe they will - given the chance - all in the name of the coming of the 12th imam. My fear is that Israel may strike first out of self preservation. The man at the helm in Iran, Ahmadinejad, is a madman who wants global Islam.
