who is that v. famous artist who paints really realistic images of sea -and beaches - one of the more famous ones has a boat or something! they're always on birthday cards and stuff. thanks!

Don't know about the boat, but are you thinking of Jack Vettriano? A lot of his paintings are set on beaches, and he's very popular on greetings cards.

no it's more paintings OF the sea etc, rather than being set on them - they're usually of white-gold sandy beaches and really blue sea, it's driving me mad!

thanks for all your help guys! still not hit the one I'm looking for though - think very blue, and very little in it apart from landscape (maybe ignore my boat comment, it's misleading) - no worries if no1 knows, it's just frustrating me! thanks though, nice to learn about some other artists anyway!
