At times I am loosing the flashing marker (Text cursor) which shows my position of where I am in the document in which I am typing.

Its the flashing 'l' that can be made to appear anywhere on the document when one clicks the L/H mouse button.

Could anyone please explain why this is?

Has your mouse lead become lose, I mean loose
Look in the mouse settings in control panel and there is an option to hide cursor while typing, un-tick it.

Thanks for your answers.

factor30, no my mouse is not loose, thanks.

ChuckFickens, I did as you said and unticked the 'hide the curser while typing' box, but this has not made any difference i can still see the flashing curser, which is what I need to do surely.

Incidentally my flashing curser came back on its own after I had posted my question, so I didn't need to take any action, but on your advise I did, but has I said I could not see any difference take place.

Any idea why this was?
