anyone know how i can send a word document as a fax??

is there anyway i can do this?

i don't have a fax machine an just wondered if there was a way to send a word doc to a fax machine online...??

just to save me having to go to the library

Yes you can, if your pc has a dial up modem and you can plug in to a telephone line

thanks ethel, but weirdly my vista doesnt seem to have a windows fax an scan!!!

ive searched an can't find how to set it up...the help topics just seem to tell me what a fax is rather than how to set it up

do you know how? or another way to do it?

These are the instructions from my PC - don't know if it helps -
Using FaxFax provides you with complete fax facilities from your computer. You can configure fax settings, send and receive faxes, track and monitor fax activity, and access archived faxes. Using Fax, you can choose to send and receive faxes with a local fax device attached to your computer, or with a remote fax device connected to fax resources located on a network.

Fax is not installed by default during Windows Setup.

To install the Fax component
Open Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel.
Click Add/Remove Windows Components.
In the Windows Components Wizard, select the Fax Services check box, and then follow the instructions on your screen.
Notes

To open Fax after installation, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to Communications, and then click Fax Console.
For more information on using Fax, click Help in Fax Console.

Use internet fax. Your word file will be automatically converted to fax file so that it will be compatible to fax machine.
